Easy to work with
These sound fine, maybe a bit bassier than a standard P-90, but with a bass roll-off they brighten up nicely. A few basic physical notes: Set is reverse-magnetized. The leads are pre-stripped and tinned for reverse-phase so the set is humbucking in the middle position. The leads are actually shielded two-conductor wire, though. Coil leads are red and white, baseplate is on the drain wire. Phase or series switching is really easy this way, just snip off the end to expose both conductors. The chassis ground is taken out of the signal chain at.the same time, which is bonus. No keeper bar. The metal covers are not soldered nor wax potted, so they slip right off. Allparts plastic covers fit perfectly after bending the tabs for the neck pickup. Bobbin, magnet, and baseplate are wax potted. The ceramic magnets are easy to swap or flip if you want to play with that. They are a bit fragile. I broke one of them prying out the magnet on the neck pickup, but it still works fine. They *are* dogear pickups, but come with soapbar mounting screws and dense foam blocks. For things like the WildKat, where one of the pickups is mounted in a routed block rather than to the top, this is a nice touch. They fit the relatively narrow string spacing (48 mm neck, 50 mm bridge) on an Epiphone WildKat perfectly.
